50% Sheet Metal Cost Reduction

Medical Cart

NIC Global worked closely with the customer to reduce the cost of this complex sheet metal fabrication and subassembly by 50%. We know that our customers look to options such as China sourcing to save their company money. While the designs NIC Global produce are largely driven by the customer, our expertise in materials, processes and manufacturability allow us to provide critical assistance to help customers cut costs, reduce cycle times and better manage their lean manufacturing programs.

This is a complex sheet metal subassembly. The finished product is a medical device, meaning that tolerances and fit and finish requirements are especially stringent. For this customer, NIC Global embedded an engineer at the customer location two days per week to be closer to the front-end design strategies. Our desire is to develop long-term working relationships with our customers so we are better able to help them increase quality, decrease costs, and exceed their expectations. We work to offer customers the full packaging, giving them more value than if they were simply receiving steel casting or other materials fulfillment.

Finally, we take on the logistical work to simplify this customer’s final assembly load. NIC Global inventories complete “kits” and delivers them on a daily basis to the customer. This eliminates massive inventory headaches for the customer and allows them to focus their efforts on final assembly and customer service. How many sheet metal manufacturing operations can offer the same level of service?
